Transmits letter from Burundi concerning its compliance with Security Council resolution 1072 (1996) and with conditions set by the countries of the Great Lakes region in imposing an economic blockade on Burundi which has had disastrous consequences for the Burundian people. Also transmits a statement by the President of Burundi concerning the conflict in eastern Zaire.
