Abstract
Information received concerning the fact that the joint stock companies Belaruskali, a state-owned enterprise in the Republic of Belarus which mines potash, and Belarus Potash Company (BPC), a state-owned enterprise that markets and exports the potash, are being blocked from transporting it through the Republic of Lithuania as a result of its response to unilateral sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States of America, and also concerning the fact that banks in Lithuania have impeded transactions pertaining to trade in Belarusian potash; and that these are having a detrimental effect on human rights internationally, particularly the right to adequate food but also other rights that are associated with it.
