Transmits joint Russian-Chinese statement on Iraq adopted at the meeting in Moscow between the President of the Russian Federation and the Prime Minister of China, 17 Feb. 1998; states that the Russian Federation and China, as permanent members of the Security Council, do not accept a solution involving the use of force and attach particular importance to the mission of the Secretary-General to Baghdad for a political settlement of the crisis.
