Abstract
Review 1. The High Level Review of UN sanctions is an initiative, sponsored by Australia, Germany, Greece, Finland and Sweden, and organized by the Watson Institute for International Studies and Compliance and Capacity Skills International, LLC, to enhance the effectiveness of United Nations sanctions to better address threats to international peace and security, through improved integration with internal and external institutions and related legal instruments. 2. The review was conducted from May to October 2014 by three working groups, examining, respectively, UN integration and coordination; the relationship between UN sanctions and external institutions and instruments; and the humanitarian aspects of sanctions and emerging challenges.
